Immigration Papers APPROVED !!!

So this day has just gotten a little bit better !!! Let me just take a minute to say that my day has been a little up and down so far. Started off with my sweet Libby going off to Kindergarten for the second day and when I dropped her off this morning at the front door, I knew that the next time I saw her she would be walking off of the big yellow school bus. I have been conflicted about allowing her to ride it because of the stories you sometimes hear involving bullies, bus drivers who text, accidents, etc. You know, mother’s worst nightmare type stuff. BUT, she has been wanting to ride the bus since forever now and we know three kids from her class that will be riding it with her plus our third grade neighbor who is an absolute doll sooo why not?
My day took a dip when I stood on our newly constructed porch and expected to see what I typically see which is a creek, green foliage and tons of wild life. Instead I saw two huge houses in mid construction. HORROR!!! I knew that these houses were going up, we’ve been hearing it for months now, but they cut down so many trees across the creek that we can now stare through their windows. I yelled out a thing or two when the chainsaws briefly stopped and the guys yelled back to me that “Bamboo isn’t a tree and we’re allowed to do this.” Then proceeded to yell “Timber!” I mean, rude right? I was livid. Emailed a few people, talked to my neighbor who is equally upset, and can only hope they repair the damage that they’ve done. My day could only get better from here!
AND IT DID!!! We had our fingerprints appointment for Immigration purposes August 18th. Ive been waiting patiently for our I800-a to be approved and today was the day! We officially meet the eligibility requirements as adoptive parents for a child who will be adopted under the Hague Convention. (which China is). Yup! We are indeed one step closer. I just scanned this over to our amazing adoption agency, CCAI, they will take five weeks to seal it, and then we will be DTC, Dossier to China!
You were probably thinking this blog entry would involve a bit more exciting news like maybe we’d been matched or something, but believe me, this little detail is a BIG part of the puzzle for us. Ok friends, keep us in your prayers. And pray they don’t kill any more trees behind us!
