A Team in China

We couldn’t have come half way around the world to adopt without an awesome team. What a team it was and I will forever remember each and every one of them. CCAI is an amazing agency. I cannot speak more highly of them. Throughout this entire process they were there answering the silliest of questions. They wanted to show they were there for us because they knew this was a hard thing to do alone. When we touched down in China, They were there. An awesome team of two or three in each new China city we landed in. We will forever be grateful to CCAI for all they did for us. The other team that we couldn’t have done this without is the truly awesome families who adopted children with us. We were CCAI group 2278 and we are all a family now. There were many people and families who felt different than us in the beginning (and that’s okay) but that quickly changed once we were all in the same room receiving our babies for the first time. We all stepped in to take photos and video of the special moments that were happening around us. We have been there for each other to hold a baby, help someone with their luggage, whisper some encouraging words, lift someone up who needed lifting- Josh and I couldn’t have done this without the help of these other amazing couples and families. We were a team in China. We made it through 17 days because of each other. I will forever remember them.

We leave China tomorrow. We take Jack away from the country he was born in to a country that smells different, has different people, different foods, different language, different home, different bedroom,  different everything. It will not be easy for him. That little boy deserves grace and understanding through this difficult transition. I pray for him and pray for our family to be able to give him what he needs.

We have been told by so many what a lucky little boy he is and how he’s hit the “Jackpot”. Well, he doesn’t think or know that. Right? WE are the only lucky ones for now. We found an amazing child who we get to call our son. And boy is he wowing us every day.
